Our Cabinetry
At JWH Design and Cabinetry, all of our cabinetry lines have been selected to adhere to our strict design and quality criteria. By representing different Cabinet lines at complimentary price points (custom cabinetry, semi-custom, and stock), we are able to meet realistic budget requirements while still providing the highest level of design and service to ALL of our Clients.
JWH Custom Cabinetry:
The construction specifications of our JWH Custom Cabinetry line were developed by JWH to meet the specific demands of our Clients and to ensure long lasting quality. Our Custom Cabinetry is designed by Jennifer Howard, drawn in Auto CAD to precise calculations and details, and is then built in our partner millshop. Specializing in the latest technology for the fabrication of high quality custom cabinetry, with the care and precision of true craftsmen, every cabinet is built like furniture. Each beautiful cabinetry finish—whether a hand-wiped stain, solid paint of any color, hand-applied brushstroke, antique glaze, or distressing — is formulated for the individual job to offer the client a truly custom look. Every cabinet is thoroughly inspected by a cabinet specialist before being wrapped for transport and installation in your home.
1 ½” solid face frame mortise and tenon construction
3/4” and 1” thick doors and drawer heads
1/2” and 3/4” plywood cabinet sides
5/8” and 3/4" hardwood dovetailed drawer boxes with full extension Blum motion glides
3/4” and 1” thick interior plywood and/or MDF shelves
Specialty furniture-grade wood species include: mahogany, walnut, teak, bamboo, wenge, cherry, maple, birch, quarter sawn oak, alder, butternut, lyptus, clear pine, and more
Unlimited custom stains, paints, glazes and other finishes, including our exclusive “brushstroke” technique
Although we also offer “primed only” cabinetry for field-applied paints/stains, we strongly recommend our specialty commercial-grade finishes (applied in our millshop) for the best durability and long term quality. This is particularly critical in Kitchens and Baths.
Our custom cabinet millshop is committed to meet or exceed all recommendations for environmentally responsible cabinet manufacturing, including FSC woods, low emission chemicals, and an acclaimed recycling program for finishes.
Semi-Custom Cabinetry:

3/4” MDF shelves (recommended for improved stability)

Large selection of specialty paints, stains, glazes, and distressing
Stock Cabinetry:
¾” face frame with mortise and tenon construction
¾” doors and drawer heads
½” industrial grade particleboard cabinet sides and drawer boxes (plywood upgrade available)
(We recommend upgrading the drawer boxes to 5/8” hardwood dovetailed)
Wood species include: maple, cherry, oak, hickory, or MDF
